The Art of the Manual Silicone Print for Sticky Pole Leggings

In the world of pole fitness, silicone-printed (or "sticky") apparel is a huge trend. These products help dancers grip the pole while wearing full clothing, ideal for winter training, modesty, or avoiding "pole kisses" (bruising).

Thicker, Stronger, Stickier

Most "sticky" leggings on the market use a single, thin, machine-pressed silicone layer. At Pomy Sports, we do things differently. We treat our leggings like high-performance athletic equipment, not fast fashion.

The Multi-Coat Process

Our artisans apply multiple layers of liquid silicone by hand. We apply the first coat, let it cure completely, and then apply another layer. This creates a thicker, heavy-duty grip that won't peel or wear thin after a few sessions.

Less Muscle Fatigue

Because the coating is thicker and more substantial, the 'mechanical stick' is significantly more effective. This allows you to glide with greater precision and hold longer, while using approximately one-third less grip strength than on bare skin, saving your energy for that final combo.

The Geometric Advantage

We don’t just "slather" the silicone on. It is applied in a precision geometric grid. This allows the fabric to stretch and recover between the grip points, ensuring your skin can breathe, and the leggings move with you, not against you.

Total Symmetry

We believe in balanced training. That’s why our grip is placed on both legs, inner and outer shins. The heart of the performance lies in the Dual-Zone Silicone Stick technology: Zone 1 (Inner Thigh) provides a high-density "Lock" for sit-tricks, while Zone 2 (Shin & Calf) acts as a "Stabilizer" to shield against pole burn and to ensure you can master both dominant and non-dominant sides equally.

Outcome

A bruise-free and gravity-defying experience. It costs more to manufacture it manually, but the results are visible the moment you hit the pole. While our manual application process is more labor-intensive and costly to produce, it ensures a level of durability that mass-produced alternatives simply can’t match.
Moreover, choosing Pomy Sports’ Grip Legging means investing in a piece of technical engineering designed for athletes' safety and crafted with passion. Our high-gauge 4-way stretch textile remains squat-proof under high-intensity friction. The Zero-Slip high waistband prevents sagging during inverts, while integrated low-profile knee guards and under-heel foot bands create a seamless, elongated line that offers extra safety and security.

Why Manual Coating Is Important Compared to Standard Machine Printing?

Feature

Our Manual Multi-Coat

Standard Machine Print

Thickness

Heavy-duty, multi-layered

Paper-thin, single layer

Durability

Fused into fibers; peel-resistant

Prone to cracking and peeling

Grip Power

Enhanced (30% less muscle effort)

Moderate (still requires heavy squeezing)

Breathability

High (Geometric "Flex" Gaps)

Low (often solid sheets)

Cold Weather

Superior "Instant-Tack"

Needs friction to "warm up"

Cheap machine-printed leggings look good on the shelf, but they lose their "stick" when you need it most. Our sticky leggings are hand-painted, coat-by-coat, ensuring a thick, industrial-grade finish that lasts. The product is ideal for advanced inversion enthusiasts and beginners working on static holds to build grip strength, suitable for aerial silks, lyra, and pole fitness.

Regardless of the manufacturing engineering, the quality of the materials used, or the care and handling of the product, it lasts longer. So, always:

  • Flip Inside Out: Protect the silicone print during the wash
  • Cold Wash Only: Heat can degrade the silicone bond
  • No Fabric Softener: This is the "stick killer", softeners leave a film that makes silicone slippery.
  • Air Dry: Always air-dry to maintain the grip’s integrity, as heat can damage the silicone grip

Pro-Tip: The "Size Down" Rule

For heavy-duty pole leggings, the fabric must be tight. If the leggings move against the skin, the silicone will pull on the fabric rather than on the pole, which can cause a fall.

Note: For maximum safety and stick, we recommend sizing down if you are between sizes.

Safety & Performance Disclaimer

1. Muscle Engagement is Mandatory

While Pomy’s Silicone Grip provides superior friction and "stick," it is not a substitute for proper technique. These leggings are designed to enhance your grip, not replace your strength. You must continue to engage your core, adductors (thigh muscles), and glutes at all times. Never rely solely on the fabric to hold your weight.

2. Check Your Grip Before Every Invert

Silicone performance can vary based on the environment. Before attempting an invert or high-altitude trick:

·       Test the Stick: Perform a basic climb or pole sit at a low level to ensure the leggings are responding correctly to your pole type (Chrome, Stainless, or Brass).

·       Clean Your Pole: Residual oils, lotions, or dust on the pole can make silicone slippery. Clean your pole with high-percentage rubbing alcohol before use.

3. The "Shift" Risk

Because these leggings "stick" to the pole, they may pull against your skin if they are not fitted correctly.

·       Ensure a Tight Fit: If the leggings are too loose, the fabric may slide around your leg while the silicone stays stuck to the pole, causing a loss of stability.

·       Skin Sensitivity: Users with sensitive skin may experience "pulling" sensations. If irritation occurs, discontinue use or wear a thin base layer.

4. Equipment Compatibility

Designed for professional-grade dance poles. Avoid use on plastic or powder-coated surfaces. Use caution on silicone poles; the 'double grip' effect may hinder transitions or damage fabric.

5. Product Longevity

Over time, excessive friction may cause the silicone print to wear away. Inspect your leggings before every session for any signs of peeling or fabric thinning. Replace your gear if the structural integrity is compromised.

LIABILITY WAIVER: Pomy Sports is not responsible for injuries resulting from improper use, equipment failure, or lack of proper training. Pole dancing is a high-risk activity; always train with a spotter or crash mat when attempting new moves.
